In Canada, Nigerian-born composer heads music school fundraiser


Nigerian-born Thompson Egbo-Egbo, who was taken to Canada at age four, has been chosen as honorary chair of a yearly Dixon Hall fundraiser holding tomorrow, November 25, 2013, at Daniels Spectrum, Toronto.

Now at 29, he is seen in Canada as a role model who has excelled as a Pianist, composer, arranger, performer and educator.

Egbo-Egbo, according to sources from the local media will give a speech at the event “and premiere an original composition for piano and cello titled Yesterday Was Today.”

He is seen in Canada as the most prominent individual who has come out of Dixon Hall Music School. The school, in the past three decades, has been offering “low-cost music lessons to 5,000 youngsters from towns such as Regent Park, Moss Park and the St. Lawrence Market neighbourhood”.
