Amaka Igwe, 51, nee Isaac, died on Monday, April 28, 2014 in Enugu State, Southeast, Nigeria.
An accomplished movie producer and director, Igwe graduated at the University of Ibadan as a master degree holder in Library and Information Services.
She started as a scriptwriter for TV soap opera and earned fame with Checkmate before the upsurge of Nigerian home video in the early 1990s.
She will be remembered for her home video hit, Violated. But Igwe died as a less active produce/director on the mainstream home video front as she focused more on the cable TV under her production company Best of the Best African Film and Television BOBTV.
