Tupac’s lyrics written in prison for London auction


Lyrics of Tupac Shakur (June 1971 - September 13, 1996), which the late controversial rapper “wrote” while in prison are going under the hammer at Sotheby's London Rock & Pop sale on September 29, 2015.

 "We are delighted to have this item in our sale, it's a really unusual item," says Sotheby's expert on books and manuscripts, Gabriel Heaton.

"Tupac is a fixture of enormous popularity and great cultural significance, so we are confident there'll be a lot of interest."

 Two handwritten manuscripts signed by Pac are estimated at to go for between $50,000 and $80,000 in price.

The lyrics include Ambitionz Az a Ridah, described as “the first track he ever laid down after being released in 1995 and the opener for his fourth album All Eyez on Me, released four months after he left prison. Recall that Tupac served a sentence for sexual assault.
