Report on creative industry will get 'full implementation', FG assures

One month and two weeks after the Federal Government inaugurated the Post-Covid-19 Initiatives Committee on the Creative Industry, Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has assured that Federal Government will fully implement the contents.



 While submitting the report, Alli Baba, who is the Chairman of the Committee thanked the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed for the opportunity given the creative professionals in making input towards recovery. On Friday, a statement said Mohammed, virtually, received the report of the Post-Covid-19 Initiatives Committee on the Creative Industry and assured the practitioners of full implementation.


In his remarks, Ali Baba commended the Minister for the opportunity given to him and his members to serve the nation. He assured that the report reflects all the views of players in the nation’s creative industry.

According to Special Assistant on Media to the minister, Segun Adeyemi, the report was received virtually on Friday by Mohammed. “Let me assure you that we will study the report with the same seriousness that you employed in preparing it, with a view to ensuring its full implementation, within the realms of available resources," Mohammed said. “I thank you all for your sacrifice and commitment. I look forward to working with you as we strive to give the Creative Industry its pride of place."


Mohammed stated: “Based on the feedback that I have received, I have no doubt that the report you have just submitted is a culmination of painstaking efforts by all of you, and will go a long way not just in aiding the recovery of the Creative Industry from the negative effects of the pandemic, but also in putting the industry on the right path to sustainable growth in the years ahead.” The minister said the report came at a time the Federal Government was looking in the direction of the creative industry to boost the economy, particularly in the wake of the on going pandemic.


Inaugurated by the Minister on May 19, 2020, the committee, amid protests over inadequate representations across the industry, has as members Ali Baba (Chairman); Hajia Sa’a Ibrahim (Vice-Chairman); Bolanle Austen Peters; Charles Novia; Segun Arinze; Ali Jita; Baba Agba, and Kene Okwuosa.


Other members include Efe Omoregbe; Prince Daniel Aboki; Chioma Ude; Olumade Adesemowo; Dare Art Alade; Oliver Enwonwu; Alhaji Saleh Rabo; Bala Hassan; Ali Nuhu; Tajudeen Owoyemi; B.M. Dzukogi; TY Bello; Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, and Anita Eboigbe (Secretary).
